GENERAL RULES (for EACH performance)
Fantasy contestants earn 'Campeonato' points based on game finishes of each of their 10 player picks (Win-5 points, 2nd-3 points, 3rd-1 point). Totals will accumulate each day. Contestants' scores will be updated/displayed following each performance.
The Fantasy Challenge is divided into three segments.
SECTION A. STARTING ENTRIES
Selections must be submitted by Wednesday, May 2, 1:00 PM
You will select any 10 players to compete on your behalf for the next 3 weeks. 'Campeonato' points (5-3-1) will accumulate.
SECTION B. (OPTIONAL) PLAYER REPLACEMENT
Replacements must be submitted by Wednesday, May 23, 1:00 PM, and will take effect at that time.
None may be swapped after this date.
You can replace up to 3 players on your list, but you needn't replace any, if you so choose.
SECTION C. FINALISTS' SHOWDOWN
New entries to be submitted privately by Wednesday, June 13, 1:00 PM
After 6 weeks, the top 10 contestants (plus ties) qualify for the final 2-week Showdown. Showdown totals will reset to zero. At this time, they will submit an entirely new 10-player list (yes, it's OK to use players from the original list). In the unlikely case of contest dropouts, the top 15 contestants can submit a new list, but only the top 10 will qualify.
For extra privacy, entries will be submitted by eMail. Receipt of entries will be acknowledged on Chalk Talk, and will be published immediately after the Showdown round begins.
POSTING YOUR SELECTIONS
Your selections must be submitted in the message thread entitled:
"Enter Dania Fantasy Challenge selections HERE:"
Please, it will make it easier for the scoring gnomes if you put each player name on a new line.
Your selections must be submitted by 1:00 PM (EDT) of the scheduled cutoff dates.
The cutoff time is firm - NO Exceptions. Please don't try to test me on this rule.
Israel will be out for the month of May. No player vacations are scheduled during the contest period, but players can have occasional off days. If any of your players are scratched, you will NOT receive credit for their substitutes' performance. However, if one of your players comes in AS a sub, he WILL accumulate points.
OH, BY THE WAY ...
It's just not sportsmanlike to wait for others' selections, and then carefully craft yours against theirs.
You might think that's clever 'strategery', but this contest is about YOUR PICKING SKILL, not 'gamesmanship' ... 'nuff said.
